Acne Home Remedies

There are many acne remedies you can try and we've gathered together some of the more popular ones here. Remember they will all take some time to begin to work so don't expect miracles overnight. Stick to the remedy you choose for at least a month to make sure that it has had time to work.
  • Make a paste of cinnamon powder and honey. Apply before bed and wash off the next morning.

  • Mix together 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and apply. Do not use if you have sensitive skin.

  • Fresh mint juice smoothed on the face at night is a good treatment for pimples as well as eczema, scabies and other skin infections.

  • Take a fresh clove of garlic and rub on to the pimples.

  • Add some ground nutmeg to milk and apply to the affected areas. Leave for one to two hours.

  • To prevent formation of pimples mix 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice and 1 tablespoon of groundnut oil and apply to the face.

  • Blend some raw papaya (including the seeds and skin)and apply to the affected area.

  • Make a paste of ground fenugreek leaves with water and apply to the face daily. Leave on for about 15 minutes before washing off with warm water.

  • Grated potatoes can be used as a poultice for pimples, boils, blackheads etc.

  • Use a face wash of fresh lime juice in boiled milk.

  • Ground neem leaves mixed into a paste with turmeric powder can be applied to the affected area and washed off after about 30 mins.

  • Mash some ripe tomatoes and apply to the face. Leave for about an hour then wash off.

  • Make a mixture of equal parts rosewater and lime juice,apply to the face and leave for about 20 mins.

  • Ground sesame seeds mixed with a small amount of water to make a paste reduces skin inflammation.

  • Turmeric powder in mint juice can be applied as a paste to the face. leave on for about 30 mins.
