Acne Remedies - Our Healthy Skin Diet

Acne remedies can improve your acne but you can also help the treatment by making sure your diet is providing you with all the nutrients you need. We've put together suggestions to help you achieve the diet that is best for you and for your acne!

What you should eat and drink

  • Drink at least six glasses of water a day

  • Eat five servings of colorful vegetables and fruit daily. This includes orange, red or yellow fruits and vegetables, green vegetables, garlic and onion.

  • Eat oily fish two or three times a week.

  • Eat low fat, live yogurt daily

  • Eat whole grains, beans , lentils and root vegetables.

  • Use olive oil in moderation instead of other vegetable oils.

  • Eat fish, chicken and game in preference to red meat.

  • Drink fruit or herb teas in preference to regular tea or coffee

What you should limit or cut out

  • Limit alcohol consumption. Preferably cut it out completely

  • Limit tea and coffee to one or two cups a day.

  • Limit the use of sugar and avoid sugar laden soft drinks, cakes, desserts etc.

  • Avoid foods made with white flour

  • Avoid foods containing additives as much as possible

  • Avoid fried foods. Steam, boil, bake or grill instead.

  • Avoid saturated fats

  • Do not smoke
If you follow the acne remedies here you should see a significant improvement in your condition within a few weeks. Eating a healthy diet will not get rid of acne overnight but it will help you have a healthy skin and increase the effectiveness of any natural acne cures you may be using.
